IN THE STUDIO | RYAN BUBNIS (PDX)
This week we take a peek into the creative space of multidisciplinary artist Ryan Bubnis whose works are bold, colorful, fun, graphic and filled with good vibes. When Ryan isn’t working as an Assistant Professor at The Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, he is creating his awesome art in his studio garage, where he keeps “one side of the studio … dedicated to traditional drawing and painting,” and the other for digital work.
Strangest thing he’s ever seen from his studio?
A cat vs. squirrel wrestling match.
What’s the weirdest or strangest tool or souvenir and why?
I started saving old paint stir sticks and making pieces out of them. I like the idea of seeing something familiar from a different perspective. Lately I’ve been collecting all my used up pencil stubbies.
